Unily Apps and Tools allow the intranet administrator to provide quick links to a complete library of applications relied on by employees via a fully qualified domain name (FQDN). Apps can be targeted to users based on profile properties such as role, department or location, ensuring everyone has rapid and intuitive access to the tools they need to thrive.
Easily integrate bespoke or in-house-developed custom applications to surface data from existing data feeds and end points. Examples have ranged from consuming an XML data feed to display internal job vacancies, through to issuing live queries to a securely hosted SQL Azure database pulling and presenting client data.
Just as 3rd party apps can be easily integrated with Unily, Unily also has the ability for its own endpoints to be written to by other applications. For example, SAP could be configured to post an update to Unily alerting a user to a task waiting on their input. This kind of integration allows Unily to maintain it's centrality and prevents users from switching between programmes to stay updated.
Unily delivers easy integration with off-the-shelf products. Whether you want to surface a document solution like Dropbox in Unily documents or make Chatter the default Unily social experience, integrating with established third-party products (with supported APIs) is a common integration option. The list of fully integrate-able 3rd party apps is continuously growing, with the most recent additions being BOX and Workday.
One of the most effective ways to surface enterprise content into a Digital Workplace solution is via a global search capability. Powered by the Microsoft based Hybrid approach, we can surface content from on-premises systems such as earlier versions of SharePoint. We can also integrate an existing search engine within Unily, issuing queries to the external search engine and presenting the results within a Unily page for ultimate consistency.
