The Unite 21 story

For Unite 21, we pivoted around the pandemic and took things completely digital, live streaming 27 speakers, 16 sessions, 2 fitness classes, and multiple roundtables over 3 action-packed days, from 2 continents. There wasn’t a pre-recording in sight!

We were joined by some of the brightest minds in internal communications, HR, and IT to discuss how to take employee experience to the next level. With sessions from Johnson & Johnson, Crayola, Louis Theroux, Tan France, and Fearne Cotton, every topic from D&I to the future of internal comms was covered. Now we’ve wrapped for another year, and we may or may not already be thinking about Unite 22!

Thanks to everyone involved

To all our attendees, we thank you not only for joining us but for matching our energy pound for pound. It was great to see so many of you tuning in and getting involved in the chat and Q&As during the sessions. Your input - be it as interrogators or simply engaged observers - made Unite 21 what it was.

Pulling off a live-streamed conference to almost 3,000+ people is no mean feat, and we want to extend a huge thank you to all our speakers and colleagues who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Even though we didn’t get to meet in person this time, it felt like everyone was all together – connected by technology. Your input was invaluable, and we couldn’t have done it without every single one of you. Thank you!

Congratulations to the Unite 21 award winners!

Unite 21 also played host to the Unite awards, celebrating the achievements of Unily clients from all over the world. We also announced this year's recipient of the community ambassador award, chosen internally for their contributions to the Universe customer community.

Finalists for the three awards – Best homepage, best crisis response, and most innovative campaign – had their entries showcased during the conference, with finalists for the best homepage award pitching to the audience before a live vote that decided the winner.
