Unily named a Leader in IDC MarketScape: What this means for the future of employee experience

Kaz Hassan
Senior Community & Partner Marketing Manager

Unily has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape 2025, with CEO Lokdeep Singh joining Kaz Hassan to share key takeaways on how enterprises can unify their workforce, boost productivity, and turn employee experience into a true competitive advantage.

The latest IDC MarketScape report is out, and I have to admit, I’m buzzing. Unily has been recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Employee Experience for Integrated Workspaces 2025. Again!

What makes this extra special is that this isn’t just any analyst report. The IDC MarketScape process is… well, let’s just say it’s not for the faint-hearted. It’s a deep dive that blends customer interviews, detailed RFP responses, live demos, and a scoring model that pretty much puts every corner of a platform under the microscope. To come out as a leader means you’ve delivered across all the things that matter most to enterprises making big, strategic technology decisions.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Unily's CEO, Lokdeep Singh, to get his take on what this means for the market and where employee experience platforms are headed. You can watch the full conversation at the end of this article, but here are my highlights.

A market on the move

Employee experience platforms have become essential to connecting workers and helping organizations keep pace with rapidly evolving technology. Lokdeep put it perfectly when he said:

Employee experience platforms aren’t just a nice extra anymore, they’re mission critical. We’re living through wave after wave of transformation: mobile-first workforces, hybrid models, and now AI moving at breakneck speed.”

Organizations are facing these big shifts all at once. In times like this, they don’t just need another communications channel. They need a platform that unifies HR, IT, and business functions, breaks down silos, and gives their workforce the speed and resilience to handle whatever comes next.

What makes a Leader (and what doesn't)

One thing that stood out from my conversation with Lokdeep was how clear the dividing line is between leaders and laggards in this space. As he put it:

Leaders are laser focused on driving business outcomes across every type of worker – office, frontline, and hybrid. Engagement matters, but the real differentiator is combining engagement with productivity and efficiency. The laggards? They’re chasing vanity metrics like clicks and opens.

That last point really landed with me. Too many organizations are still measuring success in page views or email opens. The real impact comes when engagement meets productivity, efficiency, and strategic value.

Our customers are the real MVPs

Everyone at Unily knows we’re lucky to work with such passionate, forward-thinking customers. When I asked Lokdeep about his first few weeks as CEO, it was the customer conversations that stood out:

I’ve been blown away by how passionately our customers talk about the platform, because it’s having real business impact. Some call it the ‘front door to employee experience,’ others the ‘town square.’ It’s where everything happens – from cultural connection to critical business decisions.

Those stories aren’t just great anecdotes. They’re backed up by hard results: Multimillion dollar savings from productivity boosts, faster onboarding, and improved retention. The IDC results are really just a reflection of the value our customers are creating with the platform every day.

Why this win matters

This recognition adds to Unily’s status as the only company in the industry to be consistently recognized as a Leader across IDC, Gartner, and Forrester. But as Lokdeep reminded me, the bigger story here is about trust:

This is a reflection of trust. In a market where change is accelerating, organizations don’t just need a vendor. They need a safe pair of hands, a partner who can scale with them and help them turn employee experience into a competitive advantage.”

That really sums up what makes this one feel so special. Large enterprises aren’t just buying software. They’re choosing a partner to help them navigate constant change.

What's next

So, where does Unily go from here? When I asked Lokdeep about the future, his answer was clear:

“Our vision is simple. Double down on AI to simplify and personalize the experience. Act as the seamless ‘front door’ to best-of-breed tools, and keep the human at the center, even as AI becomes part of everything we do.”

“Ultimately, Unily isn’t just helping organizations survive disruption, we’re helping them thrive in it and turn employee experience into a true differentiator.

That’s the part that excites me the most. The hybrid workplace is here to stay. Disruption is only going to speed up. Employee expectations are rising. And Unily has a unique opportunity to help organizations not just keep up, but use employee experience as a real driver of value.

To our customers, employees, and partners: this win is yours. Thank you for the passion, feedback, and trust that make moments like this possible.
