P&O Ferries signs with Unily to embark on digital transformation project

Unily has announced a deal that will see its award-winning employee experience platform support P&O Ferries’ frontline and corporate workforces, connecting employees to the organization wherever they are.

An intranet solution for frontline workers

With 182 years of heritage in the transport and logistics sector, P&O Ferries ships sail more than 27,000 times a year, transporting over eight million passengers, 1.6 million cars, and two million freight units. P&O Ferries’ workforce is dispersed and always on the move – of their 4,000 employees, more than 85% work on the frontline. This presents a unique challenge to internal communicators, one that Unily’s digital workplace platform is well equipped to solve.

P&O Ferries chose the Unily solution due to its track record in assisting global transport and logistics enterprises. Unily will develop and implement an Out-of-the-Box intranet solution specifically tailored to meet P&O Ferries’ unique business requirements. The flexibility of the mobile-first solution will afford P&O Ferries a powerful tool to engage their entire workforce from anywhere in the world.

The full-scale digital transformation project will provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all top-down and peer-to-peer communication. A mobile-first approach and Office 365 integrations will play a critical role in the project. Access to best-in-class tools and state-of-the-art technology will empower P&O Ferries’ workforce, connecting them to the organization around the clock.

Key Platform Features:

  • Branded native mobile app with push notification functionality
  • Integration of Office 365 apps and tools directly accessible from the digital workplace
  • Unily Broadcast Center, providing multi-channel communications that reach the frontline
  • An out-of-the-Box solution capable of rapid deployment
  • Targeted user experiences delivering relevant content tailored to the user
