5 ways your intranet platform can help engage the disengaged
Employee engagement is still a big issue for organisations, with Gallup's latest research showing that in the USA, only 32% of employees were engaged in their roles.
There were a number of factors that contributed to this but what Gallup ultimately found is that "employee engagement is strongly connected to business outcomes essential to an organization's financial success. Engaged employees support the innovation, growth and revenue that their companies need".
So what does this mean for those employees who spend their day on a shop floor or in a factory for example? Sure they're aware of the impact they're having within their particular location, but the majority of staff lack the knowledge of how their day-to-day work is affecting the organization as a whole. Therefore, more needs to be done to reach out to these disengaged, the ones who don't have a look in on the company’s direction or success and don't have access to the same technologies that those in the head office do.

Push notifications sent directly to mobile devices can alert staff of a new campaign, initiative, change in policy, provide information from their line manager, notification of a new shift schedule and more. Receiving a notification directly to a mobile, reminds staff of the information they can get from the intranet platform and when the content is particularly relevant.
4. Online forms and polls
Online forms and polls are another way to grab the attention of those employees who are intranet-averse.
