Poor search capability and lack of relevant results is a common complaint for employees looking for knowledge across an intranet. Penspen’s new intranet improves this in two ways. Firstly, the intranet introduces a new global search, enabling employees to search on keywords with results across People, Sites, Documents and Articles and more. As well as this, Penspen’s Knowledge Manager is adopting a pragmatic approach, helping people to discover what they don’t already know, rather than expecting them to search for specific items. Knowledge is now surfaced in pockets across the intranet, on the homepage, in articles, on collaboration sites, information pages and communities. By putting knowledge into context, employees feel happier in what they do and are empowered to simply get on and do their jobs.
